Welcome

RiiTube allows you to watch YouTube videos on your Wii using WiiMC, a homebrew app that functions as a media player.

How to Install

  1. Make sure your console is modded and has the Homebrew Channel. wii.hacks.guide is the best tutorial to mod your console.
  2. Download both WiiMC and WiiMC-SS. WiiMC is needed since it contains the path for RiiTube's XML. WiiMC-SS is a better version of WiiMC which we highly recommend you use.
  3. Launch WiiMC-SS from the Homebrew Channel.
  4. Press the Network icon (should be to the right of the disc icon) at the top of the screen. You should be able to use RiiTube.

FAQ

RiiTube does not work, I am getting some sort of error on WiiMC

It's possible there's a problem with the video you are trying to play. Try another video. If you still get issues, it might be a problem with the server, as the setup we use might break every now and then. Email us at [email protected] and we'll take a look.

How does RiiTube work?

For YouTube, we use a alternative API for YouTube called Invidious. To download the videos and serve them to your Wii, we use yt-dlp.

Does RiiTube work with the Internet Channel or the YouTube channel?

No. You can try using ReviveMii which has a service to use either of those.

Why am I unable to fast forward / rewind videos on RiiTube?

Unfortunately we do not support that feature.

Will you support IPTV?

At one point, we supported IPTV channels being played via RiiTube, however we had to take it down because WiiMC kept aborting the streams prematurely.
